Lois Davies, Academy Coach

In addition to her role as a coach for the Washington State Leadership Academy, Lois A. Davies serves as the superintendent of Pateros School District. She is in her sixth year as a school and district improvement facilitator and works as the Eastern Washington professional development trainer for In Action: Gathering Evidence of Student Learning.

Davies works to improve education in schools and universities around Washington state by building trust, skills, and collaboration that focus on student learning. Lois' work as an inspirational speaker, trainer, and facilitator offers administrators and faculty current research and expertise on ways to bring equity and excellence into their classrooms.

Teaching experience for Davies includes positions in the Orondo School District and a private school, as well as an adjunct professorship for Whitworth University. She also has worked for the North Central Educational Service District and the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction. Davies has worked as a consultant, trainer, writer and keynote speaker for newspapers, governmental agencies, churches, and small businesses.

Davies is currently completing her doctorate in educational administration at Washington State University. She earned a B.A. in education from Central Washington University, a M.A. in curriculum from Lesley University, and her principal credential from Washington State University; she is completing her superintendent credential at Seattle Pacific University.

Davies demonstrates her passion for reaching every individual, and building supportive learning and working environments in her ongoing commitment to the schools she serves.
