Katy Karschney, Academy Coach

Katy Karschney is a district coach for the Washington State Leadership Academy. She also serves as a school and systems design coach for the Coalition of Essential Schools Northwest (CESNW), with over ten years of experience in partnering with educators to bring to life powerful learning experiences in K-12 classrooms.

Dr. Karschney's clients include schools and districts across Washington state; North Platte, Nebraska; Great Falls, Montana; the Atlanta Public Schools and schools across British Columbia, Canada.

Katy is a practitioner, teaching over 15 years in diverse classrooms; a researcher, publishing in the areas of student voice, teaching and learning; a school and district coach, serving as a reflective partner for teachers, leaders and administrators, and a professional developer, offering interactive workshops in teaching and learning, leadership and organizational health. She holds her doctorate in leadership studies and serves as an adjunct professor at Gonzaga University, teaching masters classes in curriculum development, advanced learning strategies, and professional development.
