Gene Medina, Instructor and Coach

Gene Medina is an instructor and district coach for the Washington State Leadership Academy.

As teacher, drug education coordinator, curriculum director, assistant superintendent and superintendent, Gene Medina has spent the past 35 years exploring the processes of change and transitions for individuals, groups, schools, and school districts. He is deeply committed to success for ALL, developing learning organizations/communities, and championing the role of public education in creating our global future.

Medina's experiences range from designing and implementing instructional programs, designing and facilitating leadership training to developing and implementing organizational interventions and facilitating group and community dialogue about challenging issues. Most recently, Medina was superintendent of the North Kitsap School District.

Medina received his B.A. in History from St. Mary's College, Moraga, California, his M.A. in Social History from the University of the Pacific, Stockton, California, and his Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Oregon.
