Kathy Odegaard, Academy Coach

A long-time educator, Kathy Odegaard's extensive classroom and administrative experience lends greatly to her role as a coach for Washington State Leadership Academy.

Kathy has been an elementary, middle and high school teacher and administrator and is retired from both Alaska and Washington states.
Upon retirement, she contracted with the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) as a School Improvement Facilitator supporting middle and high schools in their efforts to improve student learning. She has also participated as a District Improvement Facilitator in a large school district in southwestern Washington.

Administrative coaching has been a main focus of Kathy's work. She has participated as an adjunct professor at Seattle University as an administrative coach since the inception of the program. Kathy's positive energy and dedication to teaching and learning promotes a trusting, professional relationship that facilitates the growth and successes for adults and students alike. She truly enjoys seeing people celebrate in their own accomplishments.
