Melinda Walsh,
Academy Coach

In addition to her role as a coach for the Washington State Leadership Academy, Melinda Walsh serves as the Executive Director of Instructional Services for Evergreen Public Schools. Melinda has 33 years of experience in education as an elementary classroom teacher, secondary special education teacher, reading specialist, elementary principal, and as a central offi ce administrator.

Melinda has done extensive work with the Safe and Civil Schools Project, the BEACONS Project, and the Positive Behavior Support network related to developing school wide positive behavior support systems within a nurturing school climate. Melinda's work with her staff at Burnt Bridge Creek Elementary to improve the teaching of writing was featured in Writing Essentials by Regie Routman.

Melinda received her bachelor's degree and administrative certification from Central Washington University. Her master's degree was earned at Western Washington University.
