Art has joined the Washington State Leadership Academy team this year as a Leadership Coach.

Most recently, Art provides educational services for school districts across Washington State as an Educational Coach and Consultant. Prior to co-founding his professional consulting business, Art’s 33 year career in public education includes 13 years as Superintendent for the Ridgefield and Wapato School Districts where he successfully led the organizations to exceed desired goals and expectations. Art’s expertise in coaching leadership teams, developing strategic plans, facilitating community outreach services, and planning facility projects have resulted in highly effective programs, increased employee performance, improved system-wide practices, and increased community support and trust.

Art’s practices include working collaboratively with leadership teams, communities and key stakeholders. He successfully implemented a Large-Scale Leadership Model in his organizations that increased student learning and established highly effective system-wide continuous improvement practices.

Prior to his superintendent positions, Art served as an elementary and middle school principal in the Wapato School District, taught elementary and middle school students in the Battle Ground School District, and served as a State and Federal Program Coordinator.

Art holds a Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Portland, a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of Washington, and received his Administrative credentials from Seattle Pacific University. He resides in Vancouver, Washington.
