Jeanette Bowers is a Leadership Criteria Framework Feedback Specialist (LCFFS) and district coach for the Washington State Leadership Academy.
After 32 years in public education, Jeanette retired in the spring of 2009, having served as a teacher, counselor, ESD service provider, district office administrator, and principal. Since “retiring,” she has worked as a school and district improvement facilitator for two districts, and also is currently engaged with school districts in north central Washington as a private consultant, providing professional development and coaching in the areas of curriculum alignment and school improvement.
Jeanette received her bachelor of arts in Education from Central Washington University, followed by her master of science at Portland State University. She began her career as a special education teacher in Vancouver, Washington, and her next stop was the North Slope of Alaska, where she believes she learned as much as she taught. The concept of “life-long learner” became a reality on the North Slope, and it is a quality that she believes has been an important part of her success regardless of her position throughout her career.
