The Washington State Leadership Academy underwent a number of changes this year, Director Sharon Bower explained to stakeholders this summer, “Like all sustainable and valuable programs, we are changing and growing to fit the needs of our districts across the state.”
A design team worked for nearly a year to construct a new curriculum for incoming cohorts in 2017-18 and transitional curriculum for the returning year 2 cohorts. An overview of the curriculum demonstrates WSLA’s commitment to creating sustainable aligned systems that ensure equity and high-quality learning.
In addition to the new curriculum, Patsy Gugliemino was named WSLA’s new Coach Trainer and Curriculum Design support. Patsy has a rich background in coaching and a tool belt full of incredible skills. Her passion for school and district improvement is evident in all she has accomplished. If you have had the wonderful opportunity to work along side Patsy, you have likely benefited and grown from the experience. She was been one of the members of the impressive Design Team, who worked diligently to update and grow WSLA to the next level.
